I recently came across a video on TED.com about keeping your goals to yourself by Derek Sivers. (talk can be found further down this article)

Now you’re probably thinking “wait a minute I’ve always been told to tell everyone what my goals are and I’ll find it easier to achieve them”

The talk explores how making yourself slight uncomfortable can actually help you a lot more towards achieving your goal.

Try it and let us know how you found it, in our comments section.

Energy Boost Zone is a revolutionary wellness company. Our highly trained massage therapists and energy consultants can visit your office to ensure your people are full of energy, happy and working at peak performance.

We bring our glowing ‘space station’ like wellness dome when we visit. Your staff can visit the dome, a peaceful sanctuary that feels a million miles from their desk, for a head and shoulder massage that provides an immediate energy boost and a one-to-one consultation that provides them with personalised lifestyle-tips that will steadily increase their energy levels. A follow-up email provides loads more advice on building those energy levels.

Here are 5 simple tips for boosting your daily energy levels:

1. Eat breakfast. Every day. No excuses.
If you don’t eat anything until mid morning or lunchtime, then you will most likely have gone over 12 hours without any calories! Your blood sugar levels will drop dramatically during this time leaving your tired, unable to concentrate and even irritable.

2. Move your body.
Exercise is fantastic for boosting your energy levels. Allot of people exercise after work, but this can disrupt your sleep that evening. We recommend exercising in the morning to kick start your metabolism and fire up your energy levels.

3. Learn to relax or meditate.
Meditation may seem a little alternative, but you may be surprised to learn how many top business people and world leaders practice it. There are many different techniques to try, the secret is to find the one that works for you. Click here to see our beginners guide to meditation.

4. Eat to the 70% rule.
Eating too much will drain your energy. Try eating until you are 70% full and stopping. You will notice a dramatic improvement in your energy levels almost immediately. Also, remember that your food take a few minutes to reach your stomach, so eat slowly to allow you to judge the 70%.

5. Drink lots of water.

The ideal amount is about 2 litres a day. Keep a big glass on your desk and you will be surprised as to how easily you drink this amount. We recommend warm water, body temperature is best. Your body needs to spend extra energy to warm chilled water to body temperature.
