| | | Graham Allcott | My expertise I specialise in personal organisation systems, strategies to deal with information overload and ‘action management’. I am a naturally ‘too strategic to be organised’ person but have trained myself to be productive through the development of personal workflow systems and developing the power of good habits. Why I do it Forcing myself to develop good workflow habits has been tough - I’m a typical strategic ‘flake’! - so my work gives me the immense satisfaction of telling people that if I can do it, they can too. My background My transition from charity chief executive to freelance consultant was what inspired Think Productive. Realising I’d have to manage without a PA and a great team of ‘do-ers’, I began reading about workflow and productivity tools, and developing ways to ensure maximum productivity. I now run 2 companies (the other being social enterprise consultancy, Fruitful Consulting), I’m Chair of international development charity READ International, a trustee of Centrepoint and an acoustic singer songwriter. What my clients say “Graham's workflow training and coaching has helped me to become more organised in my work - and as a result i'm getting more done than ever... thank you think productive!“ Charmaine Sainsbury, National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) | | Martin Farrell | My expertise I’m a facilitator with over four decades of experience in the third sector and ten of running a limited company, get2thepoint. I run meetings. From small, highly charged meetings with just a few people, through to facilitating hundreds of people working for the United Nations on climate change. Why I do it I set up get2thepoint as a way of helping people do just that. My involvement with Think Productive is a natural way to offer my skills and expertise to others, and is an increasingly rewarding part of my working life. My background I’ve been a professional facilitator for over a decade, working with Government departments, third sector organisations and businesses. I’ve worked for the United Nations on Climate Change, for Sport England on the London 2012 Olympics, and many other equally exciting projects. Before this, I held senior positions in organisations such as the British Red Cross and Save the Children. What my clients say "BA is the land of meetings! This was refreshing, to the point and interactive session which has really made us think about using our time for meetings more productively and in some cases questioning our need for a meeting at all. A well prepared, presented and superbly timed 'meeting' which gave us an opportunity as a group to share problems and helped us to find practical solutions.” Vandana Sood, British Airways | | | Next.. | | | Lois Graessle | My expertise I’m a facilitator and coach, specialising in meetings and conferences. I work with a wide range of organisations from Refugee Action to the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Said Business School, Oxford University, and the team for the annual Skoll World Forum. Why I do it I enjoy the creative process of meetings, and ensuring that people are empowered to make things happen. My background As well as working with a diverse range of organisations, I’m co-author of the popular books, ‘Planning Together’ and ‘Meeting Together’. In my spare time, I’m also a book artist and writer. What my clients say "BA is the land of meetings! This was refreshing, to the point and interactive session which has really made us think about using our time for meetings more productively and in some cases questioning our need for a meeting at all. A well prepared, presented and superbly timed 'meeting' which gave us an opportunity as a group to share problems and helped us to find practical solutions.” Vandana Sood, British Airways | | Simone Cameron | My expertise I am a qualified performance coach, helping people to enjoy the work they do and be more productive. I work with clients on solutions for stress and work overload which usually include adopting new workflow management systems! I worked for five years in the USA, training and coaching, non-profits and corporations on long term projects. Why I do it I like the instant but lasting results, everyday changes like improving workflow or email can make on someone’s stress levels and work day. My background My background includes working as a project manager delivering multiple marketing projects across divisions for Lombard. Over the last ten years, I have seen how stress and work overload can really affect people. This has inspired me to learn as many tools and techniques as possible. What my clients say “Simone is extremely approachable, optimistic and enthusiastic.” Lucy S, Account Director “I felt vibrant, energised and motivated after my coaching sessions with Simone.” Karen B, Training Consultant | | | Julia Slay | My expertise A trained consultant in technology solutions and experienced Office Manager and PA. Why I do it I genuinely identify Think Productive as one of the most innovative and practical training experiences around, and am really excited about being a part of bringing their services to people who can feel tangible benefits from the workshops in the way they work, and how they feel about their work. My background After graduating I spent two years training as a Consultant with Accenture UK, working for Government and Telecommunications clients. I’m currently completing a Masters in International Politics, while working with Think Productive and Amnesty International. | | The ideaGraham’s transition from charity chief executive to freelance consultant was what inspired ‘Think Productive’. For the first 2 years as a freelancer, he was suddenly working without a PA and a great team of ‘do-ers’, and having to rely on himself to be organised, productive and motivated. Graham’s ‘lightbulb moment’ was reading David Allen’s “Getting Things Done” (GTD), which led on to discovering a whole range of productivity books, blogs and resources. With over four decades of experience in the third sector and ten of running consultancy get2thepoint, Martin was being asked more and more to help people improve their meetings and change their culture. So Graham and Martin decided to join forces and start ‘Think Productive’. The problemOur experience working in a range of charity, government and business settings is that people are struggling with the growing sense of information overload, and struggling with the ambiguity, uncertainty and stress that this causes. Our experience is also that conventional ‘time management’ training is useless: 20 years behind the times, with out-dated models that assume that time is actually the thing that needs to be managed. The gap in the marketOur approach is more fundamental. We work practically to develop better habits and behaviours, and focus on helping people to manage their attention. We give people tools, but we also follow through with our ‘at-desk coaching’, by sitting at peoples’ desks and helping them figure out the best ways of working for them PerformanceOur workshops, with organisations like the Cabinet Office, Barclays, the National Council of Voluntary Organisations, University College London and British Airways are now a big success, and people in these organisations are reporting tangible increases in productivity simply from spending a few hours with our workshops and coaching. Our focus is on improving performance. We are genuinely passionate about productivity, and we love helping organisations to shake off stress and uncertainty and develop playful, productive momentum. |
